About the Author

Syambra  started this blog as a way to keep her friends in family ‘in the loop’ when she flew half way around the world to work for a micro-finance NGO in Ghana for a year. But with life’s twists and turns she left Ghana to explore what else West Africa had to offer. Now a Program Specialist for USAID/Benin, she is happy to join the team working on various health and development programs for the local Mission.

A California native, Syambra holds a undergraduate degree in Legal Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz and has spent her 20′s  in California, Boston, and Washington, D.C.

Recently accepted to the Graduate Program in International Affairs at the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy (part of the  New School for Public Engagement), she is excited to move back to the U.S. in the fall and call New York City home come January2013!
